Damages Caused By Supplements

For those of you looking to enhance the appearance and performance of your body with a quick pill or supplement…I am SORRY:

– Taking supplements WILL damage your body. That’s just the truth about it.

The reasons why supplements damage your body are because they are NOT natural. The major companies are allowed to released any product they want without even proving the safety of proof that their products work. Young teens and other individuals are prone to buying a product they think will give them an instant boost in muscles or performance.

The problem with supplements are that they simply aren’t natural! Your body was never meant to take that stuff, and it never will be. Anytime you put something into your body that doesn’t belong there, your body has to take a tougher means to break it down. In many instances, your body cannot break down the toxic and it goes into your bloodstream and damages the rest of your organs. In fact, having too much of ANYTHING can be bad, even too much stuff that you normally eat, like meat, or even water. If having too much of something natural can harm you? Imagine how much harm you can do to your body with unnatural stuff?

Supplements will cause irreversible damage to your body! Do not fall into the trap of a youngster that thinks he or she is invincible. Or that “a little bit won’t do that much harm”.

Below are examples of known side effects from performance-increasing supplements like steroids, creatine, and more:

– kidney-damage
– your body stops reproducing natural hormones after you stop taking the supplement
– stomach pain and cramps
– diarrhea
– heart problems
– stunted growth
– testicle shrinkage
– and more…..

Many products out on the market will not live up to their claims yet still damage your body and slim down your wallet in the process. The only way to have long-term health and performance is to stay natural. The performance problems with today’s athletes are usually connected to training and diet, more so than supplement intake. There is no magical product that will give you the “perfect body”. These products damage your body in the long run and no matter HOW NATURAL they all claim to be, they are always discovered later and recalled by the FDA to be dangerous or linked to deaths by heart-failure or kidney-failure. Take care of your body and you’ll live longer. There are plenty of olympic athletes from the earlier years when the olympics didn’t have extensive drug-testing, that are now dying young at the age of 40-50. Why is it that these healthy people are dying from bad hearts or failing kidneys and other unknown causes? Think about it. Take care of yourself, so that you may be strong years after your Superman days.

Some tips on improving your performance without buying expensive and dangerous drugs:

– eat well
– sleep more
– don’t drink alcohol or smoke
– train harder and smarter
– talk to someone who’s better than you and isn’t on the juice

BELOW are some details about the most common drugs on the market:

Your teammates and local drugstore clerk might now know everything. Chances are, you’re not getting the whole story about how supplements work and the risks you take by using them. The FDA does not have the time to go research all the drug manufacturers to make sure they are safe. Please do your homework before taking something, and always remember that it’s probably better if you stay natural!

Anabolic steroids

Anabolic steroids are hormones that help the body build muscle tissue and increase muscle mass. Steroids, also known as roids or juice, are similar to the male hormone testosterone, which is produced naturally in larger amounts in guys’ bodies and smaller amounts in girls’ bodies. The body’s muscle tissue is stimulated to grow when a person takes steroids, producing larger and stronger muscles.

Of course, steroids come with serious side effects – such as high blood pressure, heart disease, liver damage and cancer, urinary and bowel problems, strokes and blood clots, and sleep problems. A person who takes steroids may develop bigger muscles, but he or she is also at risk for baldness and severe acne. Guys who take steroids can suffer from infertility, breast and nipple enlargement, and problems having an erection. Girls using steroids may find themselves with deeper voices, smaller breasts, menstrual problems, and an increase in facial and body hair.

Steroids can also have emotional effects on the user such as severe mood swings, aggressive behavior, irritability, and depressive or suicidal thoughts. Teens who inject steroids into themselves with infected needles are also at risk for HIV or hepatitis.

Androstenedione and DHEA

Androstenedione (also known as andro) and dehydroepiandrosterone (also known as DHEA) are other popular nutritional supplements. Androstenedione and DHEA are prohormones or “natural steroids” that can be broken down into testosterone. The effects of steroidal supplements aren’t well known, but it’s thought that when taken in large doses, they cause effects similar to stronger anabolic steroids. Andro and DHEA have been known to cause hormone imbalances in people who use them. Both have the same effects as taking anabolic steroids and often lead to dangerous side effects like testicular cancer, infertility, stroke, and an increased risk of heart disease. They can also cause women’s breast development and shrinking of testicles in guys.

Like anabolic steroids, the use of andro before the typical adolescent growth spurt can cause a teen to never reach their full adult height. Because the body is programmed to stop growing after puberty, steroid usage can disrupt the natural growth process. When hormone levels reach a certain point, the body thinks it’s already gone through puberty. So, bones get the message to stop growing way too soon.

Human growth hormone

Human growth hormone (hGH) is another sports supplement. Doctors may prescribe growth hormone for some teens who have certain hormone or growth problems to help them develop normally. But growth hormone can also be abused by athletes who want to build muscle mass. Teen athletes who abuse growth hormone may have impaired development and altered hormone levels. Worst of all, the body may stop producing natural growth hormone once the user stops stop taking it.

Creatine

Creatine can actually be found in the body in the liver, kidneys, and pancreas, and it occurs naturally in foods such as meat and fish. If a person takes creatine supplements, the extra creatine is stored in the muscles, and some people think it gives them an energy boost during workouts or competitions.

Available over the counter in pill, powder, or gel form, creatine is one of the most popular nutritional supplements, and teens make up a large portion of the supplement’s users. Teens who take creatine usually take it to improve strength, but the long-term and short-term effects of creatine use haven’t been studied in teens and kids. Research in adults has not shown that creatine can increase endurance or improve aerobic performance – but it may leave teens prone to muscle cramps and tears. Common side effects include weight gain, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and dehydration. And there have been several reports of creatine use leading to seizures or kidney failure.

Fat burners

Fat burners (also known as thermogenics) are usually composed of an herb called ephedra, also known as ephedrine or ma huang. This herb speeds up the nervous system and increases metabolism. Fat burners are used to lose weight or to increase energy. Ephedra-based products can be one of the most dangerous supplements. Evidence has shown that it can cause heart problems, stroke, and occasionally even death. STAY AWAY!

    Supplements
Are there any natural herbs/remedies that are similar to supplements that can safely be taken or will have similar effects of the “Dredded Supplements” that are actually safe for the body?

    good supplements
…are healthy “natural” foods. White meat, good fats, and strong protein sources like eggs, fish, tuna, peanut butter.

    Vitamins
I eat a lot of vitamins pills to help me with my body and life. I know that too much is bad. Is this fine? I also take a protein mix drink. The pills I eat have a great percentage of an abundance of vitamins that are nessacary for a body to function and be physically fit.

    nutritional supplements
Vitamins are usually pretty good. Do keep in mind that your body will only absorb a percentage of what you swallow. Protein drinks are fine. It’s true that too much vitamins will only wear down your organs since they have to break it down and process it. Keep everything balance and don’t take more than the recommended daily intake unless you’re an elite athlete – and even if you are, don’t go over 150% of the minimum!
